Copied from the ObamaCare website:
- About 15% of Americans are uninsured, which is a little less than 50 million men, women and children. Obama claimed that 50 million Americans did not have Health Insurance before ObamaCare was inacted. He passes a law making it MANDATORY to have Health Insurance. If you don’t, you are breaking the law and will be fined. The Obama administration claimed 7 million signed up for ObamaCare, about 14% of 50 million not having insurance. Of that 7 million, it is estimated that half of those that signed up had insurance, but was cancelled “because it didn’t meet the new requirements of Obamacare” like requiring 90 year old women pay for maternity care. Their alternative was to sign up for ObamaCare. So, only 3.5 million more people have insurance now that didn’t have it before ObamaCare. That’s a 7% participation rate in a mandatory program.
How can you consider only 7% a success? Especially when it caused the rates to soar for people that “were able to keep their policy”!
If 50 million kids in the country didn’t have a measles shot and a government sponsored program got 3.5 million kids to get a measles shot, would we consider it a success?
